Self-Sufficient Seniors is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Cognitive Stimulation Therapist to work one-on-one with seniors in their homes. Our goal is to support older adults in maintaining independence, enhancing cognitive function, and improving overall quality of life.
Position Overview
The Cognitive Stimulation Therapist will provide personalized sessions to seniors, focusing on memory, attention, problem-solving, and other areas of cognitive health. This is a mobile position requiring travel to clients’ homes in Ottawa, primarily from Orleans to Kanata.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized cognitive stimulation sessions for seniors
- Assess cognitive abilities and adapt activities to meet client needs
- Develop and implement personalized therapy plans
- Document session progress and communicate updates as needed
- Foster positive, engaging relationships with clients
Qualifications
- Education and training in Recreation Therapy or a related field
- Experience working with seniors in therapeutic or supportive settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Must have a reliable car and valid driver’s license
