Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be proficient in diagnosing and repairing various types of heavy equipment, including Trucks, Trailers and Cranes. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintenance and repair, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Heavy Equipment Technician will work closely with other team members to provide exceptional service and maintain high standards of safety.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on trucks and trailers to identify mechanical issues.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including cranes and trailers.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct electrical repairs and troubleshooting.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding equipment status and repair needs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics for various equipment types.
- Familiarity with automotive repair principles and practices.
- Understanding of electrical systems related to heavy equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
- Experience using power tools for repair tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation and repair is required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues.
- Experience with Liebherr Cranes is a plus.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical documents related to machinery repair.
- Welding knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience with electrical systems related to heavy equipment is preferred.
