Join Justice Technology Services as a Lead Developer and provide senior technical leadership for the design, development, integration, and implementation of complex enterprise applications. You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative solutions that support business objectives and service excellence.

Justice Technology Services (JTS) provides information technology services and support to the Ministry of the Attorney General, the Ministry of the Solicitor General, and external justice partners. Through innovative technology solutions, JTS enables the delivery of a modern, effective, and efficient justice system, supporting critical programs and services that make a difference for Ontarians every day.
As a Lead Developer, you will:
- Lead the design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of complex application and system architectures.
- Provide senior technical leadership, expertise, and mentorship to project teams and technical staff throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Lead system integration initiatives, including the evaluation and selection of architectures, tools, middleware, and emerging technologies.
Note: Occasional travel within the province may be required to support project and operational needs.
You have:
- Extensive experience in Java/J2EE application development using Java 8/11/17+, JSF 2.x, PrimeFaces, Hibernate/JPA, and Spring Framework technologies, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Spring Data.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and integrating enterprise applications with relational databases using SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and database optimization techniques.
- Experience working with application servers and middleware technologies such as WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, and containerized environments ( eg: Kubernetes).
- Experience building, consuming, and maintaining SOAP and RESTful web services, including service integration, API development, security implementation, and backend service orchestration.
- Experience developing both Java-based rich client applications and modern web-based applications utilizing responsive user interfaces, reusable components, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience with build automation and dependency management tools such as Maven and ANT, along with source control and version management platforms including Git, GitHub, SVN, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience leading development teams, mentoring developers, establishing coding standards, conducting architecture reviews, and driving technical decision-making.
- Extensive experience designing scalable enterprise systems using microservices, distributed architectures, design patterns, domain-driven design (DDD), SOLID principles, and event-driven communication models.
- Experience designing solutions that satisfy non-functional requirements including security, performance, scalability, availability, accessibility, and disaster recovery.
You have:
- Thorough understanding of enterprise architecture principles, including business, application, data, security, and technical architectures, as well as systems integration and interoperability frameworks.
- Knowledge of programming techniques including experience working with complex case management solutions involving common case management functionalities such as workflow, routing rules, queuing and
programming of business logic in procedures and notification modules.
- Knowledge of cloud-native development practices and deployment models using cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience designing and implementing event-driven solutions using messaging technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus.
- Experience implementing secure application development practices, including authentication and authorization frameworks, OpenID Connect, encryption standards, and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews, and continuous quality improvement processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills with experience supporting highly available, mission-critical enterprise systems.

- Diagnose and resolve problems impacting the information technology infrastructure and resolve operational problems with software
- Demonstrate research skills to review technical manuals to maintain current in the rapidly changing technology environment
You have:
- The ability to discuss client I&IT program needs, requirements, goals, and priorities.
- The ability to facilitate technical discussions with clients, vendors, and technical staff.
- Strong oral communication and active listening skills.
- Demonstrated written communication skills to prepare design and development documentation, reports, manuals, and recommendations.
- Experience leading discussions and promoting technology solutions with clients, vendors, and technical teams.
