D.R. Scrap Metals is looking for a dependable, hands-on person to join our team as a Scrap Yard & Equipment Operator.
If you enjoy operating equipment, working outdoors and prefer an active job where you're not doing the same thing all day, this could be a great fit.
The main focus of the position is operating a skid-steer in our scrap metal yard, directing and helping customers safely unload materials, and sorting and organizing incoming metals.
What You'll Be Doing
· Operating a skid-steer to move, organize and sort scrap metal
· Directing and helping customers safely unload materials
· Sorting and separating different types of scrap metal
· Operating a forklift and other equipment as required
· Keeping the yard organized, clean and safe
· Helping with other yard and facility duties when needed
· Working with the rest of our team to keep material moving safely and efficiently
What We're Looking For
You don't need years of scrap metal experience. We can teach you the scrap metal side of the job.
What we're looking for is someone who is reliable, safety-minded, comfortable around equipment and willing to learn.
Experience operating a skid-steer, forklift or similar equipment would be a strong asset.
You should be:
· Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
· Physically capable of hands-on work
· Comfortable helping and dealing with customers
· Able to work safely around vehicles, equipment and machinery
· Dependable and able to work well as part of a team
· Willing to learn how different metals and materials are identified and sorted
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
