Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a blend of clinical and administrative skills, ensuring a smooth workflow within the office while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care, fostering a positive patient experience.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems such as Dentrix, CAD, or Epic.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle billing inquiries as needed.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness of the treatment area in compliance with health regulations.
- Support orthodontic and pediatric procedures when required, demonstrating versatility in assisting various specialties.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and familiarity with medical terminology.
- Experience with dental receptionist duties is a plus, enhancing the overall efficiency of practice operations.
- Knowledge of CAD software for designing dental appliances is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic health record systems to ensure seamless patient management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members alike.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and organization.
- A proactive approach to learning new techniques and staying updated on industry best practices in dentistry.
