We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Grademan to join our grading and paving crews. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for setting, checking, and maintaining accurate grades to ensure high-quality subgrade and base preparation for asphalt and concrete placement.If you take pride in precision, work well with equipment operators, and understand the importance of getting the grade right the first time, we’d like to hear from you.

The Role
Reporting to the Grading Foreman or Superintendent, the Grademan plays a critical support role on the grading crew. You will work closely with equipment operators to ensure all grading work meets design elevations, slopes, and tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate laser levels, GPS systems, and other grading instruments
- Read and interpret grade stakes, blueprints, and survey data
- Check and verify subgrade and base elevations to ensure proper grades and slopes
- Communicate grade information clearly and effectively to equipment operators
- Assist with string lining, checking, and adjusting grades as needed
- Monitor and maintain grade quality throughout the project
- Work closely with the grading crew to achieve production and quality targets
- Participate in daily safety meetings and follow all company and OH&S procedures
- Assist with general grading and site duties when required
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Grademan in civil construction or road building
- Strong understanding of grading principles, elevations, and slope calculations
- Experience using laser levels, GPS, or total stations for grade control
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, grade stakes, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with reliable transportation
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Safety tickets such as CSTS 2020 and Ground Disturbance are considered assets
