Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Experience with heavy machinery, industrial equipment, and electrical systems is highly valued. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment requiring excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair automotive systems using schematics, diagnostic tools, and hand tools
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements
- Repair or replace faulty components including electrical wiring, belts, hoses, and mechanical parts
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or other industrial machinery as needed
- Utilize power tools and welding equipment for repairs and assembly tasks
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to troubleshoot issues effectively
- Conduct safety inspections on vehicles and machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Assist with the assembly of mechanical components or industrial equipment when required
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance performed
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive repair or as a mechanic; dealership experience is a plus
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery
- Mechanical expertise with familiarity in HVAC systems, welding, electrical systems, and schematics
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work with hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment safely
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to read technical diagrams and manuals
- Experience working with automotive or industrial machinery such as Caterpillar or other heavy-duty equipment
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients
- Valid driver’s license; certification in automotive technology or related fields is preferred
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
