Tired of after-hours emergency calls eating into your family time? At Galico, there is no on-call. Ever. You run one to three quality residential calls a day, you share in the profits you help create, and you’re home for dinner.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
- Run 1–3 residential installations and service calls per day — real variety: water heaters, furnaces, and the occasional multi-day project. No repetitive assembly-line work.
- See how your work moves the business — our open-book approach means you can track the numbers you influence and share in the results, not just clock hours. Major tools provided.
- Focus on the technical work you’re licensed for: pricing questions, scope changes, and scheduling headaches go to the Service Manager, not you.
- Travel between customer calls is paid working time.
- Own the customer experience on site: clean work, a walkthrough of the new equipment, and homes treated like your own.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Valid TSSA Gas Technician 2 (G2) certificate — required. We reimburse your TSSA renewal fees.
- Minimum 3 years of gas fitting / HVAC experience.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence with a clean record.
- Your own hand tools (toolbox, tape measure, level, screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, tubing cutter, utility knife, etc.) — we supply everything else.
- Professional, courteous presence in customers’ homes; steel-toe boots required.
- Self-motivated and reliable — you’ll run your daily schedule independently.
COMPENSATION
$30–$45/hour based on experience, plus profit sharing. We run an open-book approach: you’ll see the numbers you influence on a shared dashboard, so the work you do to move the needle translates into a real reward. Also included: 4% vacation pay on every cheque, two weeks’ vacation, all nine Ontario statutory holidays paid, ESA overtime at 1.5x, and ongoing performance reviews.
