Materials Handler / Production Worker

Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary Contract (immediate start)
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour

Our client, a leading company in the food equipment manufacturing industry, is currently seeking a reliable and motivated Materials Handler / Production Worker to join their operations team in Richmond, BC. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in supporting production operations efficiently and safely.
We are looking for someone who is available to start immediately. This contract position has a strong potential to become a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
- Move materials and products throughout the facility to designated work centres and storage locations
- Prepare and kit job orders for production
- Work closely with planning and manufacturing supervisors to help keep production schedules on track
- Notify Production and Purchasing teams of material shortages or outages
- Verify inventory counts and part locations as needed
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and use required safety equipment
- Assist with additional warehouse or production duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous material handling or warehouse experience preferred
- Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems is an asset
- Basic computer skills required
- Good English communication and comprehension skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally without assistance
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing principles is an asset
