Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Math & Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, has a strong foundation in mathematics and science, and is committed to helping students build confidence and achieve academic success. This role involves delivering engaging, curriculum-based lessons, supporting diverse learning needs, and creating a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics and Science to students from Grades 1–12 (based on qualifications and experience).
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Ontario curriculum.
- Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, classroom participation, and regular feedback.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and individual student needs.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group academic support when required.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment.
- Maintain attendance, lesson plans, student progress reports, and other classroom records.
- Incorporate technology and digital learning tools into classroom instruction.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress and development.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors to enhance curriculum and student learning experiences.
Qualifications
- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) is preferred.
- Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) certification with relevant teaching or tutoring experience will also be considered.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Education, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related field is an asset.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience in Mathematics and/or Science is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario curriculum is an asset.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs or special education is an asset.
- Comfortable using educational technology and digital learning platforms.
- Passionate about helping students succeed in a fun and engaging learning environment.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
