Customer Success & Sales Specialist
Location: North Vancouver, BC | Full-Time
Compensation: $60,000–$65,000 salary + up to $15,000 variable compensation + Benefits
This isn't an order entry job!
Yes, you'll process orders. A lot of them. But what we're really looking for is someone who genuinely cares about the customer on the other side of that order.
We're helping find the right person to work with a locally owned B.C. food producer and wholesale supplier specializing in premium meat products. The company has built its reputation on exceptional products, strong relationships and a genuine love of good food.
We're looking for someone who shares that enthusiasm. If you love great meat, even better!
You don't need to arrive knowing every cut or product. You do need to be curious enough to learn them. You should want to understand what your customers are doing with the product, what else might work for them, and how you can make their experience better.
The Role
As the Customer Success & Sales Specialist, you'll be one of the most connected people in the business.
You'll manage a significant volume of wholesale customer orders, representing millions of dollars in business each year. Accuracy matters, but simply entering a PO and moving on isn't enough.
You'll get to know your customers and their businesses. You'll notice opportunities, recommend alternatives, solve problems and make sure customers feel like they're dealing with someone who knows them, not an order-processing machine.
Behind the scenes, you'll connect customers with Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, Sales and Accounts Receivable to make sure everyone is aligned and commitments are delivered.
What You'll Do
- Own the customer experience: Build strong relationships with our customers and become someone they know they can count on.
- Manage orders accurately: Process a high volume and value of customer orders with consistency and attention to detail.
- Think beyond the PO: Understand what customers are doing with the product, recommend alternatives and identify opportunities to better serve or grow the relationship.
- Stay ahead of problems: Identify potential shortages early, communicate with customers and find solutions before they become issues.
- Coordinate across the business: Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, Sales and A/R to ensure products, production schedules and customer commitments are aligned.
- Know the product: Develop a strong understanding of premium meat products and be able to talk about them with knowledge and genuine enthusiasm.
Who We're Looking For
We're less interested in finding someone who has held this title before and more interested in finding the right person. Someone who:
- Genuinely loves customer service and building relationships.
- Is curious and wants to understand the customer's business, not just their order.
- Takes ownership and goes the extra mile to make things work.
- Can manage a busy workload without losing accuracy or the personal touch.
- Has customer instincts and is comfortable recommending products, suggesting alternatives and spotting opportunities.
- Communicates exceptionally well by email, on the phone and across internal teams.
- Gets excited about great food. An appreciation for quality meat, restaurants, cooking or the food industry will go a long way here.
Experience in food service, hospitality, wholesale distribution, inside sales, customer success or a similar customer-focused environment would be an asset.
Ultimately, success is pretty simple: customers know you, trust you and enjoy dealing with you. Orders are accurate, problems are caught early, internal teams are aligned, and you're helping customers make better decisions, not simply taking their orders.
