Here’s what you’ll be doing as a Barista:

As a Barista at Stella’s, you are responsible for crafting high-quality beverages with care, and processing take-out orders with speed, and consistency. You are passionate about coffee, friendly service, and creating a positive atmosphere for every guest. From expertly pulling espresso shots to recommending menu items, you play a key role in both the guest experience and the overall flow of the restaurant.

Reports To – Restaurant Manager and Supervisors

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, teas, smoothies, and other specialty beverages
- Make all non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages according to Stella’s specifications, maintaining production expediency and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and surrounding area
- Provide friendly, accurate, and efficient service to all guests
- Answer incoming phone calls politely and professionally, providing information about menu items and hours of operation.
- Communicate with Front of House and Back of House staff to ensure smooth service
- Follow all Stella’s protocol in taking, packaging, checking and processing payments for Door-Dash and take-out orders to ensure accuracy and quality
- Ensure all items served are entered into the POS System prior to producing them and ensure all payment transactions are accounted for
- Keep supplies stocked and communicate low inventory to management
- Perform cleaning duties associated with barista station
- Adhere to Manitoba Food Safe requirements
- Provide support to the Front of House team
- Other duties assigned

Qualifications:

- Manitoba Smart Choices certificate
- Previous barista or café experience is an asset, but training will be provided
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the team and guests. This includes verbal and written communication and active listening to understand and respond to instructions and requests
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and drink presentation
- Demonstrate a strong ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts including days and evenings. Weekends are mandatory.

Hourly wage:

$18.70 - $20.70
