Position: Assembly Technician
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Pay rate: 25$ per hour
Shift: 11:30PM-7:00AM (night shift), Monday to Friday
Our client, a manufacturer in the automotive industry, is looking for 5 Assembly Technicians to work at their Mississauga, Ontario location. This is a 6 months assignment through Kelly Services with a strong possibility of extension.
Position Summary
Operates machinery and production equipment in a manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with quality and productivity standards and following safety guidelines under direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Delivery:
- Operate manual and automated equipment to manufacture and assemble products in line with customer requirements.
- Meet established production goals and cycle times.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning.
- Perform scheduled operator care and basic machine maintenance.
- Support team production goals by remaining flexible and completing miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Coordinate with peers and support staff to identify and resolve equipment issues.
Quality:
- Follow all standard work procedures, process documentation, and quality guidelines.
- Raise quality issues to minimize costs and mitigate exposure.
- Conduct quality inspections and identify non-conforming materials.
- Ensure proper documentation and control of non-conforming items.
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE):
- Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards.
- Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting interdependence and awareness.
Teamwork & Development:
- Communicate effectively with team members and support staff.
- Complete required training and participate in continuous personal development.
- Engage in efforts to improve quality, safety, processes, material flow, and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma, completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience, as applicable.
- Experience: Minimal or no prior work experience required.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Experience with FKM rubber injection molding, deflashing, and finishing tasks.
- Proficiency as a die-cutter and kitter for fuel cells (GDLs) and PEM electrolyzers (template frames and sinters).
- Strong eye-hand coordination, safety awareness, and basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel).
