Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Cook/Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic culinary team. This role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the kitchen operations to ensure a smooth and efficient service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to food safety standards. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and proper waste disposal
- Support cooking activities under the supervision of head chefs or managers
- Handle food safely and adhere to all food handling and safety regulations
- Operate POS systems for customer orders and transactions when required
- Provide friendly guest services, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any inquiries or concerns
- Support cashiering duties including cash handling and order processing
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any malfunctions or safety hazards
- Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying management of stock levels
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, hospitality, or related fields is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
- Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude towards guests and team members
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic cooking skills; experience with meal preparation preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings if required
- Good physical stamina for standing long periods, lifting moderate loads, and working in a busy kitchen setting
