As their business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Mobile Equipment Project Planner to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of mobile equipment maintenance projects. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong project management skills with hands-on maintenance experience in heavy industrial or mining environments.
The candidate will play a vital role in ensuring major repairs, rebuilds, and asset improvement projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of mobile equipment maintenance projects, including repairs, rebuilds, and overhauls
· Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, timelines, resources, risks, and deliverables
· Review work requests and translate them into structured project plans with defined labor, materials, tools, and cost estimates
· Track project progress and ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved on time
· Identify risks, constraints, and bottlenecks; implement mitigation strategies to maintain project performance
· Ensure all required parts, tools, and resources are secured and staged prior to execution
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders (operations, engineering, maintenance) to ensure alignment and successful outcomes
· Manage external vendors and contractors to ensure work meets scope, quality, safety, and timeline expectations
· Monitor project performance and drive continuous improvement
· Interpret technical drawings and schematics to support project planning and execution
· Ensure all activities comply with safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations
· Maintain accurate project documentation, including work orders, progress tracking, and reporting
REQUIREMENTS
· 3+ years of experience in industrial or mining maintenance, with a strong focus on project planning or project management
· Proven experience managing maintenance or asset-related projects in a heavy equipment environment
· Strong project management capabilities, including planning, scheduling, coordination, and risk management
· Solid mechanical knowledge required; electrical experience is an asset
· Experience with mobile equipment, hoisting, and tensioning systems is an advantage
· Familiarity with underground mining equipment, particularly MacLean bolters is considered a strong asset
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
· Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
