Job Description
Direct Bore Network Solutions is seeking motivated and reliable Fibre Optic MDU Technicians to join our growing telecommunications team. Previous experience is considered an asset but is not required, as training can be provided for the right candidate.
As a Fibre Optic MDU Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing Fibre optic infrastructure within Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs), including apartment buildings, condominiums, and commercial businesses. This role involves working both indoors and outdoors, interacting professionally with property managers, residents, and customers while ensuring all work meets company and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install Fibre optic cables and associated equipment within Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs).
- Route cables through conduits, walls, ceilings, and telecommunications pathways.
- Terminate and splice Fibre optic cables to ensure reliable network connections.
- Test Fibre optic installations using specialized equipment to verify signal strength and performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair Fibre optic cables and related equipment as required.
- Read and interpret design drawings and installation plans.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service activities.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service while representing the company on-site.
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and project managers to complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in telecommunications, Fibre optics, or networking is an asset but not required.
- Experience working on Bell, Rogers, or other telecommunications Fibre networks is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with Fibre splicing, testing, and troubleshooting is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working in residential buildings, including stairwells, utility rooms, ceiling spaces, and confined areas.
- Ability to climb ladders and safely work at heights when required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Valid G Class driver's license.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and occasional overtime or weekends as required.

Pay: $18.00-$28.00 per hour
