The General Scope
Our Maintenance Technicians are on the front line of supplying repair services to all MARDA tenants and properties. Many of our properties require regular upkeep and maintenance so we are looking for detail oriented people to help us make sure that each unit is kept up and tenants issues are addressed promptly. If you love working with your hands and providing the fixes of everyday problems then this job may be right for you!
Each day you will work on scheduled repair projects independently with little supervision while on occasion work with another maintenance technician to complete larger repairs. You will receive roughly 3 - 6 work orders a day depending on the size, location and complexity of the jobs. You will be able to collect needed supplies through theMARDA Inventory Warehouse or select local hardware locations.
Our Maintenance Technicians will be required to have basic knowledge in the following areas:
- Drywall Repair: Mudding, Taping, Patching
- Flooring Repair: Hardwood, Vinyl, Laminate an asset
- Tiling Repair: Floor, Wall, Backsplash, Ceiling an asset
- Installations: Cabinets, Counter Tops, Doors, Windows, Sink, Toilet, Vanity, Appliances
- Plumbing (Basic): Fix Leaks, Clogs, Pipes
- Electrical (Basic): Switches, Receptacles, Lighting
The Other Requirements
- Must have minimum of 2 years in the home repair industry or similar education or experience
- Must have your own tools - we do not provide basic tools, only select tools like a shared tile saw, etc.
- Must have your own vehicle and valid license with insurance
- Must have your own smartphone with a data plan
- Must obtain and submit police clearance
- Must be able to lift equipment over head, bend and carry items of 30 pounds or more
- Must be able to work well in a team as well as on your own
