The Disability Resource Centre is a non-profit organization based in Kapuskasing, ON that provides supports and information to people living with any form of disability. We are committed to empowering individuals and fostering inclusion across the Northern Ontario Region.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Support Coordinator will provide administrative and programming assistance in order to support the overall effective and efficient management of the Centre and its programs for the Northern Ontario Region. This role is essential in facilitating program operations, supporting project initiatives and participants, and ensuring effective communication across teams. The Program Support Coordinator will play a pivotal role in coordinating activities, managing data collection efforts, and supporting outreach and marketing initiatives to promote program success.The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, and driven, with a genuine commitment to inclusion and putting people first, and brings outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
DUTIES:
- Oversee program activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Coordinate and support project management tasks, including planning, scheduling, and tracking progress.
- Lead public speaking engagements to promote programs and engage stakeholders effectively.
- Manage data collection processes to monitor program outcomes and generate reports for leadership.
- Assist with marketing efforts by developing promotional materials and managing outreach campaigns.
- Provide administrative support such as scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, and maintaining records.
- Recruit participants as needed to support programming activities.
- Support training sessions by teaching or mentoring participants.
- Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for program improvement and growth.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

- Highly developed interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational and time management skills
- Commitment to person-centred, respectful service for people with disabilities and their families
- Ability to work independently as well as interact effectively with all levels of management, staff and members with diplomacy, professionalism, discretion and tact
- Demonstrated respect for confidentiality with respect to confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a busy office environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and correspondence
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive client information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications would be an asset to the position:
- Administrative or program support experience in a non-profit organization
- Knowledge and familiarity with disability issues and experience in an office environment
- Proven supervising experience with the ability to lead teams effectively.
- Strong public speaking skills for engaging diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated project management expertise with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with client databases or management systems
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and scheduling tools
- Knowledge of community resources and services in Northern Ontario
- Valid Ontario driver's licence
