Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our dynamic optical team. The ideal candidate will assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, provide exceptional customer service, and support the overall operations of our optical practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for eye care, retail sales, and helping clients improve their vision with a monthly sales incentive bonus available. The Optician will work closely with optometrists and other staff to ensure a seamless patient experience and maintain high standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions, lifestyle, and preferences.
- Take precise measurements for lens fitting, including pupillary distance and frame adjustments.
- Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient prescriptions and personal information in the electronic health records system.
- Perform adjustments and repairs on eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort.
- Support the optical team in inventory management, including ordering frames, lenses, and supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming optical environment.
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure patient needs are met efficiently.
Requirements
- Prior experience in optical retail or laboratory settings is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is advantageous.
- Retail sales experience with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Familiarity with optical equipment and frame/lens fitting procedures.
- Strong communication skills and ability to educate patients effectively.
- Experience with retail management systems such as Evisioncare is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A professional attitude with attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Must be available to work at minimum two Saturday's a month (9AM - 2PM) and Thursdays till 6:30PM. All other week day shifts will require you to be available between 9AM and 5:30PM. Willing to discuss your week day hours of availability and how they may fit with our office hours.

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
