Position: Project Consultant (Fire Engineering)

Salary: $95,000 annually

Job Duties:
● Prepare, conduct, and complete fire engineering studies on a variety of potential buildings, structures and equipment to address project requirements
● Interpret and apply building codes and standards to new and existing buildings
● Develop and maintain proficiency in fire engineering tools and regulatory requirements for building construction and fire safety
● Review drawings, conduct site inspections, attend project meetings
● Develop cost-effective alternative solution proposals using fire and life safety engineering principles
● Communicate with clients and Authorities Having Jurisdiction regarding code compliance strategies
● Compose technical letters, opinions and prepare code reports
● Participate in business development initiatives to identify opportunities to expand client base and services
● Prepare proposals and fee estimates
● Manage projects, maintain schedules, and review project invoices
● Perform related project administration and other engineering technical services
Position Requirements:
● Engineering degree in a related field
● At least 2 years of related work experience, including the following:
- Working with fire and/or building codes
- Using Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Fire Dynamics Simulator, Pathfinder software
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
