Position Overview
Artemis Place is looking for a highly skilled person with administrative skills and with experience supporting exceptional and diverse youth. This hybrid position (AA/EA) will involve both administrative duties and direct service with students. The AA/EA will work closely with the School Operations Manager, who will determine operational needs for administrative support. The AA/EA will work closely with the teaching team in maintaining a positive, supportive, focused learning space and atmosphere. The successful candidate must have a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach and be flexible, open, and accommodating. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, adaptable, and enjoys working both behind the scenes and directly with students. This role helps ensure the smooth functioning of daily school operations while also supporting a calm, relational learning environment in classrooms. This position requires comfort in shifting between administrative responsibilities and student-facing work as school needs evolve throughout the day or week. A typical day will see the AA/EA start at the front office with the Schools Operation Manager in the mornings and end their day in the classroom supporting students. This role is intended to be flexible and responsive to school needs. The role will backfill for the School Operations Manager when they are sick/on vacation; and may be needed as classroom support for full days in case of several co-occurring staff illness/absence.

We offer nurturing and integrated programming that integrates self-paced and small group academics, life-skills, counselling and parenting support, including an on-site child-care centre. Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Operational Support
Working with direction from the School Operations Manager, responsibilities may include:
· Filing, organizing, and maintaining school records and documents
· Assisting with data entry and maintaining digital filing systems
· Supporting attendance tracking and documentation
· Preparing forms, letters, and school communications
· Helping coordinate supplies and materials for school programs
· Assisting with event preparation and logistics
· Supporting operational tasks during high-demand periods (beginning/end of term, reporting periods, enrollment periods, etc.)
· Maintaining organized storage areas and administrative spaces
· Supporting reception tasks as needed (greeting visitors, answering phone/email)
· Other duties as required
Educational Assistant & Classroom Support
Working with direction from the teaching team, the role will support classroom environments by:
· Assisting teachers in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment
· Supporting individual students or small groups with academic tasks
· Helping students stay organized and on task
· Supporting students who may require additional emotional or learning support
· Assisting with classroom setup, materials preparation, and transitions
· Supporting supervision during breaks, activities, or field trips as needed
· Helping maintain calm, safe learning spaces aligned with Artemis’ relational approach
· Other duties as required
Qualifications
· Secondary school graduation or equivalent
· Experience in administrative work, office support, or school administration preferred
· Education Assistant Certification or equivalent in related field or equivalent experience working with vulnerable youth, preferably educational settings
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Ability to prioritize tasks and shift focus as needs change
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
· Strong computer skills (Google Workspace, email, document organization, excel)
· Understanding trauma-informed & relationship-based approaches to education is an asset
· Ability to support students’ academic goals across subjects in grades 10-12

Working Conditions
· Part-time position 28.5 hours per week
· Mondays 9:00-4:30pm; Tuesday-Thursday 9:00-4:00pm
· Work takes place in both office and classroom settings
· Some flexibility in scheduling may be required during peak operational periods
Compensation
· Hourly wage: $29-$32 per hour depending on experience

Contract length: August 31st, 2026 – June 25th, 2027; with a possibility of summer hours in July 2027 and a contract renewal for the 2027-2028 schoolyear
