Shift Morning: 7 am to 3:30pm
Position Summary
Operates powered industrial trucks to safely load, unload, transport, and store materials and products within the warehouse and facility. Ensures the efficient movement of goods between storage areas, loading docks, trucks, and production areas while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Review production schedules and shipping orders to transport materials, products, and equipment to designated warehouse locations.
- Safely unload incoming shipments and place products in assigned storage areas.
- Efficiently stack, organize, and store merchandise to maximize space utilization.
- Verify inbound and outbound shipments for accuracy and inspect products for damage; report any discrepancies or quality issues.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured before transport.
- Stack and organize empty pallets as required.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintenance, including battery charging and routine lubrication.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Follow all instructions and directives provided by the Warehouse Manager or Plant Manager.
- Comply with all workplace safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and operate a powered industrial truck for extended periods.
- Good balance and coordination, including strong hand-eye-foot coordination.
- Ability to estimate weights and accurately judge distances, heights, and clearances.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with large groups of people.
Required Education, Skills, and QualificationsEducation and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse experience is an asset.
- Valid forklift certification required.
