Job Overview:
A growing mental health practice in Kirkland Lake, Ontario is seeking a compassionate and motivated Psychotherapist or Social Worker to support children and youth within a trauma-informed clinical setting.
This is an in-person independent contractor opportunity ideal for someone looking to grow within a collaborative and supportive environment that values mentorship, flexibility, and meaningful community impact. The practice offers a built caseload, clinical supervision, and the opportunity to work closely alongside psychiatric and interdisciplinary supports.
This role is well suited for clinicians who are passionate about child & youth mental health and interested in a unique opportunity outside of a major urban centre.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide individual counselling and therapeutic support to children and youth
- Develop and maintain appropriate treatment plans and clinical documentation
- Support clients using trauma-informed and client-centered approaches
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals including psychiatric services when required
- Participate in case consultations, supervision, and clinical discussions
- Build strong therapeutic relationships with clients and families
- Maintain ethical and professional standards in accordance with regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- RP or RP-Qualifying registration with CRPO, or MSW registration with OCSWSSW in good standing
- Practicum students are encouraged to apply
- Interest or experience in child & youth mental health and trauma-informed care
- Play therapy or art therapy experience considered a strong asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable working in-person within a community-based environment
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team
