Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable Semi Skilled Labourer to join our construction/restoration team. This role involves assisting with various construction projects, utilizing a range of tools and techniques. The ideal candidate will have foundational skills in construction and be eager to develop their expertise further. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including remediation and restoration, construction, demolition contributing to the successful completion of building and renovation projects.
Responsibilities
Able to lift and climb ladders
Use tools for cutting and cleaning up debris
Ability to multitask and execute timely completion of assigned work order tasks
Work well independently and as part of a team
Assist in the preparation of work sites, including loading and unloading materials
Support skilled tradespeople in various tasks, including demolition and decontamination cleaning
Familiarity with power tools and hand tools; operate them safely and effectively
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures on-site to prevent accidents or injuries.
Cutting and removal of downed trees and debris
Cutting and removal of drywall, insulation, and building materials
Removal and disposal of flooring materials
Compliance with disposal policies and legislation
Knowledge of IICRC WTR and Abatement processes
Identification and knowledge of hazardous materials and workplace safety procedures
Ability to work unsupervised for assigned skilled tasks
Abatement/remediation activities are performed under the supervision and direction of a licensed asbestos abatement contractor (as required by jurisdiction)
What you should have as a Semi Skilled Labourer
- Attention to detail.
- Tools - pry bars, hammer, multi bit screw driver, utility knife, adjustable wrench, needle nose pliers, slip joint pliers, wire cutters
- Safety glasses
- Safety boots
- Hard hat
- Working at Heights is an asset but not required
- Good verbal communication
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Flexible work schedule
- 2 years experience in a similar role
- Able to use hand tools
- Able to lift over 50lbs
In return you will receive

- $20-$23/ hour based on experience
- 4% vacation pay – accrued and paid out when you need it
