Job Overview
The Township of O’Connor is currently looking to hire an individual for casual employment as Equipment Operator #2 for the Roads Department. This individual would be required to be on call on an irregular and unscheduled basis (ie. inclement weather or construction).
Applicants required to be proficient in heavy equipment operation, general knowledge of road maintenance and construction procedures, and ability to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance. A DZ licence would be an asset. Resumes will be received until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment - backhoe
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
- Support and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in construction or maintenance tasks as needed
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment. Pay: $29.56 per hour
