Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Regional Manager is accountable for the safe, compliant and efficient leadership of the company’s regional helicopter operations. The role provides strategic and operational oversight across planning, execution, resource coordination, customer service, and technical support activities to ensure aircraft availability, service excellence, regulatory compliance, and strong operational performance across the region.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all regional activities in support of safe, reliable, efficient, and customer-focused helicopter operations.
- Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to company-wide performance, operational standardization, continuous improvement, and financial results.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments to align operational priorities, manage risk, optimize resources, and support the successful execution of regional objectives.
- Ensure all regional activities are conducted safely and in full compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Lead, coach, and develop regional personnel by setting clear expectations, fostering accountability, and supporting ongoing growth and performance.
- Act as the primary regional liaison with customers, partners, regulators, vendors, and other key stakeholders to maintain strong and effective working relationships.
- Work directly with maintenance and flight operations leadership to ensure alignment on aircraft availability, crew requirements, and operational readiness.
- Communicate proactively with the Operations Centre and internal stakeholders to ensure aircraft and crew requirements are clearly understood, coordinated, and effectively managed.
- Oversee all operational bases within the region, promoting safety, quality, service delivery, and fiscal responsibility.
- Identify and support commercial and business development opportunities as a contributing member of the company’s broader commercial team.
- Manage aircraft-on-ground situations by coordinating timely and effective responses with customers, maintenance personnel, and internal leadership.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to support both planned and unplanned maintenance activities across the region.
- Support vendor engagement and third-party relationships related to regional operations and service delivery.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, service reliability, capability, and overall regional performance.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of the region and the broader organization.
Skills
- Demonstrated experience leading operations in a complex environment, including planning, logistics coordination, execution oversight, and team leadership.
- Extensive rotary-wing industry experience is strongly preferred, ideally within a multi-base or geographically dispersed operation.
- Strong working knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations and related operational compliance requirements.
- Experience in customer relationship management, business development, marketing, and contract negotiation.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across internal teams, customers, vendors, and external partners.
- Sound business acumen, including an understanding of budgeting, cost control, operational performance, and strategic planning.
- Excellent communication, computer, planning, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operating environment.
