Nsafe Industries is a fast-growing engineering and fabrications company that specializes in Fall Protection, Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metal . We engineer, design, supply, manufacture and install various products used for working safely at heights and also structural steel as well as miscellaneous metals. We have been operating for over 25 years with professional engineers on staff and experts in the field of Fall Protection Safety and Steel Fabrication.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated summer student to join our fabrication team. This is a hands-on role where you will assist experienced fabricators and learn the fundamentals of the metal trades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area by sweeping, disposing of scrap metal, and organizing tools.
- Material Handling: Help load/unload vehicles and transport raw materials or finished products using dollies or hoists.
- Fabrication Support: Assist with deburring, grinding, and polishing metal parts to remove excess welds or rust.
- Machine Operation: Operate basic shop equipment like saws, drill presses, and grinders under supervision.
- Quality Checks: Assist in measuring and inspecting finished parts for accuracy.
- Other duties: As assigned for maintenance of the facility.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary trade program (Welding/Mechanical Tech preferred) or an engineering program.
- Physical Stamina: Able to stand for long periods and lift up to [e.g., 50 lbs].
- Safety First: Committed to wearing all required PPE and following strict safety protocols.
- Skills: Strong basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Attitude: Punctual, eager to learn, and able to take direction well.
