Job Overview
The Materials & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the movement, storage, and documentation of materials within the manufacturing facility. This role oversees shipping, receiving, inventory control, and internal material distribution to ensure uninterrupted production flow. The Materials & Logistics Coordinator is accountable for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring safe material handling practices, and supporting operational efficiency across departments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
- Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips
- Inspect materials for damage, accuracy, and compliance with specifications
- Report discrepancies and coordinate resolution with suppliers
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation
- Coordinate freight pickups and deliveries with carriers
- Maintain accurate shipping records and tracking documentation
- Process returns, credits, and substitutions as required
Inventory Control & Material Flow
- Store and organize raw materials, components, and finished goods
- Maintain accurate inventory records using manual and/or digital systems
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Monitor consumable inventory levels and coordinate replenishment
- Transport materials to production areas to support workflow
- Ensure warehouse, storage racks, and staging areas remain organized and accessible
Equipment & Material Handling
- Operate forklift, telehandler, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment safely
- Inspect handling equipment prior to use and report maintenance needs
- Follow safe loading, unloading, and stacking procedures
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in shipping, receiving, or handling material within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Forklift and telehandler operation experience (certification preferred)
- Experience with inventory tracking systems (manual or digital)
- Working knowledge of material handling best practices and safety standards
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and inventory reconciliation
- Ability to read shipping documents, purchase orders, and packing slips
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced shop environment
- Effective communication with production teams and vendors
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Team-oriented with a professional approach

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
