Daytime Household Assistant & Senior Companion
Location: Vancouver, BC
Schedule: Full-Time Daytime Hours (Exact Schedule to Be Determined)
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and organized individual to provide household support and companionship for a senior family member. This role combines household management, meal preparation, transportation assistance, and social support to help maintain a comfortable, active, and healthy lifestyle.
The ideal candidate is warm, patient, proactive, and enjoys building meaningful relationships while assisting with day-to-day household and personal support needs.
Key Responsibilities
Household Management
- Prepare nutritious, balanced meals and snacks
- Plan and manage grocery shopping and household supplies
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and home organization
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment
Senior Support & Companionship
- Provide companionship, conversation, and social engagement
- Encourage and accompany daily walks and light physical activities
- Support healthy daily routines and overall well-being
- Provide medication and hydration reminders
- Monitor general wellness and communicate concerns to family members
Transportation & Coordination
- Drive and accompany the senior to appointments, errands, and social activities
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating appointments
- Support day-to-day tasks and special requests as needed
Qualifications
- Fluent in both Mandarin and English
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record
- Previous experience in household management, senior care, caregiving, hospitality, or a related role
- Strong cooking and meal preparation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset
