We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Grade Two Teacher to support our vibrant Africentric charter. Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Alberta Education standards for second-grade students across subjects such as Math, English, and division one requirements.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation among students.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, including students with disabilities or special education needs.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations; adjust instruction accordingly to support individual growth.
- Incorporate technology tools such as Google suite applications and other computer skills to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues to share student progress, behavioral updates, and educational strategies.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently with strong organizational skills, ensuring timely completion of lessons and activities while maintaining a safe learning environment.
- Demonstrate a strong team member approach on a daily basis.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; Alberta Teaching Certification is required.
- Proven classroom experience working with children in early childhood or elementary settings.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities in French or Arabic languages are a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Google Classroom, Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills to integrate technology into lessons effectively.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple responsibilities.
- Passion for teaching diverse learners and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
- Excellent writing skills for lesson planning, student assessments, and parent communication. Harmony Public School is in its first year of operation with a projected enrollment of 140 students in Kindergarten to Grade Six. The school will eventually operate as a Kindergarten to Grade Twelve Program.

Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
