Production/Packing Hand
Summary of Requirements:
A Production Hand (PH) is our entry level position on our production floor. They have basic food safety knowledge. Basic knife skills are handy but general interest in and desire to work with meat is essential. They are physically capable of lifting at least 50lbs, can safely operate production equipment and comes to work every day with an open mind to learn. Reliable transportation is required as we start work prior to many bus routes operation.
Role Description
Reporting to the Department Lead Hand, that packaging team is responsible for completing production tasks as assigned by the L.H. in a timely manner, maintaining sanitation protocols, and supporting the overall production capacity of the team. They hold the following key responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
· Keeping a “customer service” attitude in all aspects of the job including maintaining open lines of communication with other departments and coworkers;
· Maintaining a safe, tidy and hygienic work area including proper FOODSAFE handling procedures and practices;
· Ensure all tasks are completed as assigned and in a timely manner.
· Come to work every day with an open mind and a desire to learn.
Tasks:
· Basic meat packaging and cutting; dicing, portioning, cubing
· Operate production machinery as trained and assigned
· Clean and sanitize equipment and surfaces as needed
· Room wash down and garbage removal
· Other duties as assigned by Production Coordinator
