NovaDome is looking for a dependable, hands-on Part-Time Production Laborer to join our Operations team in Tofield, Alberta.
This is a physical, shop-based position supporting the manufacturing, assembly, finishing, packaging, and movement of our dome products and components. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in doing quality work, and is comfortable helping with different tasks as production priorities change.
You do not need previous experience with our products. We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, reliable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and able to work well as part of a small team.
Schedule
- Part-time position
- Approximately 16–32 hours per week
- Work is scheduled Monday through Friday
- Weekly hours may vary depending on production needs and workload
- Daytime availability is required
Responsibilities
- Assist with manufacturing, assembly, finishing, and preparation of NovaDome products and components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and production equipment safely and correctly.
- Measure, drill, trim, sand, fasten, fit, clean, and prepare components as required.
- Follow production instructions, measurements, drawings, and established procedures.
- Inspect materials and completed work for quality, damage, or defects.
- Assist with packaging, protecting, crating, and preparing products for shipment or customer pickup.
- Load and unload materials, products, equipment, and deliveries.
- Move and organize materials throughout the production and warehouse areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintaining organized material locations.
- Perform basic equipment cleaning and maintenance as directed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and work area.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and use required PPE.
- Assist with field work, installations, repairs, trade show preparation, or other operational projects when required.
- Support other members of the Operations team as production needs change.
Requirements
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work independently once trained.
- Physically capable of performing manual labour, including lifting, carrying, standing for extended periods, and repetitive tasks.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new tasks, tools, equipment, and production processes.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities throughout the workday.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, construction, fabrication, warehouse, or general labour.
- Experience with fiberglass, composites, or similar materials.
- Forklift or material-handling experience or certification.
- Experience reading basic measurements, drawings, or production instructions.
- Valid driver's licence.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically active position. Candidates must be comfortable:
- Standing and working on their feet for extended periods.
- Regularly bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Lifting, carrying, and moving materials and components.
- Performing repetitive physical tasks.
- Working in a production/shop environment.
- Occasionally working outdoors or at customer or project sites when required.
