Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Supervisor to oversee daily food service operations in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As a Food Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing kitchen and front-of-house staff, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and providing a memorable dining experience for guests. Duties
- Supervise daily food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes
- Oversee food handling procedures to comply with safety and sanitation standards
- Manage POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Lead, train, and motivate restaurant staff to deliver excellent customer service
- Assist with interviewing and onboarding new team members
- Monitor food inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers as needed
- Ensure adherence to restaurant policies, health regulations, and food safety protocols
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels
- Oversee restaurant operations during shifts, including serving guests and managing the floor
- Support kitchen staff with food preparation when necessary, including cooking and plating dishes
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment in compliance with hospitality standards
- Lead by example in demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and leadership
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within the food service or restaurant industry
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms; cash handling skills required
- Prior restaurant management or hospitality experience preferred, including team management and customer service roles
- Knowledge of food industry standards, kitchen operations, and restaurant management best practices
- Experience interviewing potential staff members is a plus
- Background in hotel or barista service environments is advantageous but not required
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communication skills and the capacity to manage a diverse team effectively
