Food World Plus is seeking a skilled and passionate Chinese Chef specializing in pure Chinese cuisine to join our culinary team in Mississauga. The ideal candidate will have strong experience preparing authentic Chinese dishes and delivering consistent, high-quality food in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
Prepare and cook a wide range of pure authentic Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, noodles, rice dishes, soups, and appetizers
Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
Operate wok stations and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Ensure all dishes are prepared and served on time while maintaining high quality standards
Menu Execution & Development
Assist in developing and improving menu items
Introduce new Chinese dishes and cooking techniques as needed
Maintain consistency across all menu offerings
Kitchen Operations
Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth workflow
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the kitchen at all times
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP guidelines where applicable)
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering ingredients when required
Quality Control
Ensure all food is prepared using fresh, high-quality ingredients
Conduct final checks on dishes before they are served
Maintain consistency in portion sizes, taste, and presentation
Team Support & Training
Guide and support junior kitchen staff
Train team members in Chinese cooking techniques and kitchen procedures
Promote teamwork and efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Experience/Qualifications
Proven experience as a Chinese Chef or Line Cook specializing in Chinese cuisine
Strong knowledge of traditional regional Chinese cooking styles (Cantonese, Sichuan, Northern Chinese, etc.)
Skilled in wok cooking, frying, steaming, boiling, and sautéing techniques
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Strong organizational and time management skills
Food Handler Certification preferred
Minimum 2+ years of kitchen experience preferred
Work Environment
Fast-paced commercial kitchen environment
Standing for extended periods
Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as required
