Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our vibrant restaurant team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our guests, maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation. Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision, artistry, and attention to detail
- Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing, rolling, and plating sushi items
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled according to food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area and workstations
- Follow recipes and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency across all dishes
- Serve customers efficiently while providing excellent food service experience
- Assist in meal preparation for special events or menu updates as needed
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during food handling and cooking processes
Requirements
- Proven experience in serving, food preparation, cooking, or food service within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong skills in sushi making, including rolling, slicing, and presentation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with kitchen operations and meal preparation in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while delivering quality dishes
- Prior restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates willing to learn
- A passion for Japanese cuisine and dedication to providing exceptional dining experiences
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
