Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Bakery Clerk / Barista to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality baked goods and beverages. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, barista skills, and a passion for creating a welcoming environment for customers. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their selections of baked goods and beverages
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other specialty beverages as per recipes and customer preferences
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate cash handling and transactions
- Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling baked goods, packaging orders, and maintaining food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, display cases, and seating areas in accordance with health regulations
- Restock supplies, baked goods, and beverages to ensure availability throughout the shift
- Manage cash register operations including cashiering duties with accuracy in math calculations
- Ensure food handling procedures are followed to uphold food safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, taking orders, and resolving any concerns promptly
Skills
- Experience with POS systems, especially Micros POS
- Previous barista experience or knowledge of coffee preparation techniques
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to handle food safely and maintain cleanliness standards in accordance with food safety regulations
- Ability in learning baking basic product such as croissant, cookies etc...
- Basic math skills for cash handling and register operations
- Effective time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Serving experience in a food industry setting is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food preparation and food service best practices is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members
