Overview
We are seeking a Grounds Keeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a background in grounds keeping and maintenance, with the ability to work as part of a team. This role requires a proactive approach in key areas related to landscaping, snow clearing, exterior building maintenance and cleaning. The Grounds Keeper will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service.
Duties
- Ensure safety, complying with the Health and Safety requirements of EMF Maritimes Pool II LP;
- Delivery and collection of household appliances to and from residential units;
- Moving furniture, equipment, materials and supplies including removal of items from vacant units;
- Maintain clean buildings and grounds, including removal and disposal of garbage and debris as required;
- Driving and maintaining the company vehicle;
- Snow removal and ice control from all entrances/exits and walkways as required;
- Conduct building inspections;
- Promptly respond to issues and work orders, troubleshoot and prioritize work and handle emergency situations in a timely manner;
- Delivery of notices to building residents and posting of notices in common areas when applicable;
- Maintain tools and equipment;
- Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs;
- Resident services and assistance as required and maintaining good resident relations.
- Work as a part of an on-call rotation team responding to work orders and emergencies (defined by EMF Maritimes Pool II LP after hour emergency protocol);
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proven experience in ground keeping and maintenance with a minimum of one year experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on stairways while carrying equipment and supplies.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to provide an annual clean driver’s abstract if operating a company vehicle.
- Ability to provide a clean vulnerable sector record check.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer service.
- Must have own vehicle to travel between job locations within the Gander area.
