We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and student-centered educator to join the Prairie Land On-Line Academy team as a Middle Years Humanities Teacher, teaching Grades 5–7 English Language Arts and Social Studies. The successful candidate will be comfortable with technology and the use of online learning platforms to effectively support and engage students in a virtual learning environment. Familiarity with a variety of online programs and digital learning tools will be beneficial.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of effective teaching practices, excellent communication skills, and a dedicated approach to student learning and achievement. Demonstrated success in building strong relationships and fostering a sense of community in online classrooms is essential. Candidates must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to a supportive and innovative learning environment.
Effective use of technology and a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners will be essential. Preference will be given to individuals who demonstrate proficiency, education, and experience in online teaching and learning environments. Experience with D2L Brightspace and expertise with both PC and Mac computer platforms would be considered assets.
This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) probationary teaching position commencing the first day of the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering English Language Arts and Social Studies programming to students in Grades 5–7 through a combination of real-time, synchronous instruction and asynchronous learning opportunities. The ability to create engaging, interactive online learning experiences that support student success and achievement will be essential.
