Job Overview
The Project Controls Coordinator I provides advanced project cost control and procurement support for capital engineering and construction projects. This role serves as a key liaison between project teams, supply chain, finance, and stakeholders to ensure the accurate and timely management of requisitions, purchase orders, change orders, and invoice processes. The successful candidate will leverage financial systems, reporting tools, and data analysis to support project execution, funding management, and overall cost control activities.
Key Responsibilities

Provide advanced cost control support to assigned project management teams.

Collaborate with Project Controls Advisors, Engineering Leads, and Execution Leads to initiate purchase orders and change orders, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the requisition lifecycle.

Gather and validate information from multiple data sources to support procurement and project control activities.

Serve as the primary point of contact for the accurate creation and management of requisitions within the client’s Oracle Financial system.

Monitor the status of requisitions, purchase orders, and change orders, providing timely updates and insights to project stakeholders.

Analyze project and procurement data using Oracle Financial reports, Power BI, SharePoint, Excel, and other reporting tools to support decision-making.

Partner with Project Controls Advisors, Engineering Leads, and Execution Leads to manage purchase orders, change orders, and contract revisions when additional funding or budget adjustments are required.

Coordinate with Project Controls Advisors, Supply Chain Management, Project Execution teams, and Accounts Payable to support service receipt processes and invoice validation activities.

Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of procurement, invoicing, and project controls processes.

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with project, financial, and procurement requirements.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant industry experience.

Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting purchase order administration and project controls activities for engineering and construction capital projects.

Relevant co-op, internship, or student work experience may be considered.

Knowledge of project cost control principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.

Experience working with Oracle Cloud or similar enterprise financial systems.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI and SharePoint.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and manage data from multiple sources.

Ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Working Conditions

Primarily office-based work environment.

Occasional travel may be required, up to 10% of the time.
