Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
1 year of recent (within the last 2 years) of adult acute experience is required. A recent successful preceptorship in orthopaedic/surgical may be considered (within the last 2 years). Please note: Number of hours per shift and shifts per cycle is for information purposes only.
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year of recent adult acute orthopaedic and/or surgical nursing experience within the past year. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in an acute care setting. Excellent patient assessment, prioritization, and organizational skills. Proficiency with inpatient Connect Care documentation and workflows. Successful completion of CLHA courses in administering medications via CVC, PICC, and IVAD, and administering parenteral nutrition.
