Victoria, BC | Contractor Opportunity with Long-Term Practice Transition Potential
Sterling Financial Accounting Services is a boutique accounting and financial advisory firm located in beautiful downtown Victoria. We are looking for an experienced tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients and is interested in growing their career within an established firm.
This opportunity would be ideal for someone who:

The successful candidate will initially work alongside our collaborative team as an independent contractor using the firm's systems and processes. Office space is available within our downtown office, and for the right individual there may be an opportunity to acquire an established personal tax client portfolio as part of a long-term practice transition.
Qualifications
You should have at least three recent years of Canadian income tax preparation experience, including experience with most of the following:
- Complex personal income tax returns.
- Sole proprietorship and rental schedules.
- Final (date of death) returns.
- Graduated Rate Estate and trust returns.
In addition, you should possess:
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Strong listening and professional writing abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- The ability to work independently while knowing when collaboration is appropriate.
- Experience working in a paperless environment and communicating effectively with remote team members.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Experience with Profile Tax and QuickBooks is an asset.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to accurately record time using the firm's timekeeping system.
A criminal record check and professional references will be required. Technical proficiency may be assessed during the interview process.
