REPORTS TO: Production Manager/Shop Lead Hand DEPT: Shop Operations
OVERVIEW: The Plasma Table operator will be responsible for operating a plasma cutting table to cut metal components according to specifications and drawings. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report to work on time daily with a positive attitude and optimistic outlook.
- Comply with all company rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Wear and respect the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and company issued uniforms at all times when on company grounds (yard and shop).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate plasma table in a safe manner.
- Read and interpolate engineering prints.
- Ensure all parts are correct to spec and meet the drawing requirements.
- Load and unload material onto the cutting table, ensuring proper alignment and securing of materials.
- Adjust machine settings to optimize cutting performance and achieve desired quality.
- Inspect cut parts for accuracy and quality using measuring tools.
- Complete preventive maintenance task.
- Accurately fill out work orders and preventive maintenance forms.
- Cable of lifting 60-70lbs unassisted.
- Operate powdered equipment in a safe manner.
- Maintain stock levels of plasma table consumables.
- Communicate safety concerns to shop management.
- Communicate ideas for safety and process improvements to shop management.
- All other tasks as assigned by the Shop Lead Hand and Production Manager.
