Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in home care, The ideal candidate will have a passion for caregiving and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities. This role requires a proactive approach to patient care, ensuring that all needs are met with dignity and respect.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Provide meal preparation and assistance with feeding as needed.
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Assist with personal care tasks for individuals with disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Document patient progress and report any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care, senior care, or assisted living environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and basic caregiving skills is essential.
- Familiarity with working with persons with disabilities and providing dementia care is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient assistance, including lifting and transferring clients safely.
- A caring attitude and a commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is advantageous but not mandatory; training may be provided.
- A valid drivers license and car insurance.
