The Meadows Early Learning and Child Care is one of the top programs in the Edmonton. We are looking for an Assistant Director who will ensure a positive culture, lead, motivate and educate our staff. To joyfully interact with the children and parents, while ensuring a high quality environment.

We are seeking an individual who has a positive personality, is energetic, organized, a problem solver, and possesses great communication skills. This individual needs to be passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to the success of our next generation.
This individual will be on the floor with the educators and children for the majority of each day. Modeling best practices and ensuring each room is running smoothly and providing the best care for the children at our centre.
In addition this role will involve supporting and reporting to our Program Director.
Primary Duties
- Cultivate and maintain a safe and enjoyable culture while working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to “put out fires” and handle constant change (in child care, you never know what will happen, each day is totally different).
- A proven track record in hiring, onboarding/developing, and retaining educators
- Supervising and working with the educators
- Interacting with the children throughout the day
- Ensure delivery of high-quality education and care
- Coordinating the children's daily program planning and activities
- Maintain strong relationships with our children/families and educators
- Ability to perform all essential functions for each position in the centre, including, but not limited to, other leadership team positions, educator and cook
- Compliance with licensing, AHS requirements, fire regulations, budgets, policies and procedures
- Overall management of the centre's early childhood program and its operation, facilitating, planning
- Demonstrated highly-effective organizational and time management skills
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's day/progress
Experience/Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3
- 2 or more years of Director/Supervisor experience in a licensed child care facility
- Current First Aid in Child Care, Clear Current Criminal Record Check /Vulnerable Sector Search
