Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team for a 12 to 18 month contract with possible extension.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This role requires excellent communication skills, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively with parents and staff to support each child's development. Applicants must have current First Aid and CPR, up to date immunizations, and a current criminal reference check with a vulnerable sector check completed within the last 3 months.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote early learning and development.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment for all children.
- Assess and monitor children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and share best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and developmental milestones.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current in early childhood education practices.
Experience
- College diploma in Early Childhood Education and a registered member of the College of ECE are required.
- Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is essential.
- Proficiency in computer operation and basic writing skills for documentation purposes is required.
