The Position – Service Truck Electrician
We are currently seeking a Journeyperson Service Truck Electrician to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced electrician who is comfortable working independently, communicating with customers, troubleshooting issues on-site, and managing service calls from start to finish.
The successful candidate will be provided with a fully equipped service truck and will be responsible for performing electrical service, maintenance, and small project work across commercial and light industrial facilities
Key Responsibilities
The Service Truck Electrician will be expected to:
- Hold a valid Alberta Journeyperson or Red Seal Electrician Certificate
- Respond to service calls and diagnose electrical issues efficiently and safely
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and small installations
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications as required
- Complete tasks such as conduit installation, wire pulls, device replacement, and minor system modifications
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, site contacts, and internal team members
- Plan work, identify required materials, and manage time effectively in a service-based environment
- Accurately and timely complete service reports, work orders, and related paperwork
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service truck
- Coordinate with the service manager and other trades as required
- Travel daily within Calgary and surrounding areas
Assets (Preferred Experience)
The following experience is considered an asset:
- Strong time management skills
- Fire alarm troubleshooting and repairs
- Experience working independently without supervision
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple service calls in a day
- Familiarity with WHMIS and CSTS
- First Aid certification
- Fall Arrest and Aerial Work Platform training/certification
Qualifications / Requirements
- 3-4 years background in commercial electrical service and maintenance
- Valid Alberta Journeyperson or Red Seal Electrician Certificate
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable operating a company service truck
- Personal hand tools and basic power tools
- Ability to work independently and represent the company professionally
- Ability to commute and travel daily within the Calgary area
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
Compensation & Benefits
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Competitive hourly wage starting at $42.00 to $44.00 per hour, based on experience
- 10% vacation and statutory holiday pay paid on every hour worked
