Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team in Coquitlam, BC
Responsibilities
a) Assemble, refill, and test fire extinguisher cylinders, including fire extinguisher cylinders for mobile equipment, according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
b) Inspect and verify the functionality, pressure, and safety compliance of fire extinguisher cylinders.
c) Maintain accurate records of inspections, assembly, and testing activities.
d) Rebuild fire suppression cylinder valves and test fire extinguisher cylinders as per standard operating procedures.
e) Identify, troubleshoot, and repair minor defects as directed by the supervisor.
f) Calibrate equipment as required to maintain accuracy and operational efficiency.
g) Understand standard operating procedures and perform manufacturing/ assembly work of various components as per the steps stated in the procedure.
h) Ensure proper packing and labeling of parts/products and hand them to the Warehouse,
i) Achieve the desired volume target of manufacturing /assembly,
j) Assist in warehouse shipping and receiving, inventory audits, and quality control activities.
k) Ensure adherence to all quality parameters during manufacturing/assembly and record the process parameters on prescribed forms as listed in the standard operating procedure.
l) Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area,
m) Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment,
n) Help the Warehouse team as directed by the supervisor,
o) Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with fire extinguisher maintenance or related fieldwork.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
- Electrical experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record preferred.
