Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Starting wage is $21 plus tips. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking. The Sous Chef will support our Red Seal Head Chef in managing daily kitchen activities, ensuring high-quality food service, and maintaining a cohesive team environment. Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all food handling and safety protocols are strictly followed to maintain compliance with health regulations
- Serve as a leader in the kitchen during service hours, maintaining a positive work environment
- Monitor food quality and presentation to uphold the restaurant’s reputation for excellence
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Extensive restaurant management experience with knowledge of kitchen operations
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with effective team management skills
- Familiarity with food handling regulations and safety standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to serve as a role model for staff
- Prior experience in the food industry or hospitality sector preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for culinary arts and delivering exceptional customer service
