Position Summary
We are looking for dependable and motivated Team Lead / Truck Driver individuals to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone with moving and truck driving experience who enjoys leading others, solving problems, and providing excellent customer service.
As a Team Lead, you will work with and oversee the crew during moves, ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and serve as the main point of contact on-site. While this is an on-call position based on business demand, average expected work is up to approximately 30 hours per week, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career with our company.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely drive a company truck and cargo trailer.
· Lead and supervise moving crews during residential moves.
· Assign tasks and ensure team members work efficiently and safely.
· Provide outstanding customer service; maintain professional communication with clients.
· Load, transport, and unload furniture and household belongings with care.
· Ensure items are properly wrapped, protected, and secured during transport.
· Maintain a clean, organized truck, trailer, and work environment.
· Represent a professional appearance wearing company provided branded clothing.
Qualifications
· Valid Class 5 Driver's License, clean driving record with abstract available, bondable.
· Proficient in driving and backing up a pickup truck and 16-foot cargo trailer.
· Demonstrated leadership or team supervision experience.
· Strong communication and people skills.
· Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy furniture throughout the day.
· Able to work flexible, on-call schedules, including occasional evenings or weekends.
· Previous experience in the moving industry is an asset.
· Customer-focused with a professional attitude.
· Reliable, punctual, and organized.
· Must be non-smoker and non-vaper.
· Must be fluent in English to communicate with our clients and meet their requests.
· Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
· Must currently live in the city of Calgary or nearby areas.
· Driver must be able to arrive at Genie home base on time. Workdays start from company home base in SW Calgary.
