Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk specializing in Payables to join our accounting team. This role is essential in managing and processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments. The ideal candidate will have experience with various accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping and account reconciliation processes. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment and is critical in the financial operations of the company.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring accurate set-ups for new vendor accounts.
- Communicating with managers and golf pros to ensure proper approvals and supporting documents exist for purchase invoices and expense reports.
- Coding invoices and expense reports accurately and with pertinent details.
- Performing cheque runs for Country Club Tour and other related companies.
- Performing statement reconciliation to ensure all invoices are received.
- Monitoring outstanding accounts and follow-up on overdue balances.
- Corresponding with vendors on payment inquiries or other payable matters.
- Updating and maintaining accounting journals, ledgers, sub-ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions.
- Exporting data from POS systems to record transactions into the accounting software.
- Counting daily cash to confirm the accuracy of cash sale transactions.
- Preparing bank deposit slips and depositing cash at the bank.
- Assisting with month-end closing procedures.
- Filing documents and maintaining an organized archive of records.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 or more years of Accounts Payable or accounting experience.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field is beneficial.
- Experience with QuickBooks and SAGE is beneficial
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other office software is beneficial.
- Attention to detail and accuracy-oriented.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proactively seeking solutions to improve processes and open to new ideas.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
